Early in the morning, we head for Potrerillos,
a small village situated 50km. away from Mendoza
city, at the bottom of Cordón del Plata
in the region of the Precordillera Mendocina.
Here, an amazing view of high snow-capped peaks
(over 5000m. above sea level) set the stage
for an exciting bike ride along the edge of
Potrerillos dyke, on mountain bicycles specially
designed for this purpose. After having lunch
by the dyke, we are driven to the river and
get ready for our next adventure: a 2 hour rafting
trip. For this activity, a training lesson and
special equipment are provided. Well-equipped
safety kayaks stay close to every canoe, ready
to provide assistance. We end the day with a
typical Argentine barbecue and a party at the
hostel.
